We've just elected the first African-American to the presidency. To call this "historical" would be to trivialize it. I am proud, shocked and overjoyed. 24 million "young" new voters (18-35) turned up -- also a record. I guess I am happy, despite people's personal voting preferences, that they chose to vote, period. I think that when eligible people choose not to vote, based on some fucked up, stoner, uber-leftist, idealistic, elitist and/or generally mis-informed BULLSHIT, that they are essentially giving up their worth as human beings. Yes, I get that we're stuck in a 2-party system and so any change is going to be within a specific threshold. Yes, I get that we're playing a huge fucking game that in all reality has very little to do with what we individually need to see happen in our everyday lives. But check it bitches: You have to learn the system before you can get around it and get what you want out of life. So stop fucking whining about everything and play along. Or, go die.
