Bomb Hills Not Hearts
Thursday, 16 December 2010 14:22

Love there are flowers hanging in the vine
So high...you cannot see
Now my mind must go on holiday,
torn from it's hook, a broken valentine
I see the smoke from a revolver,
will I get hit? I hardly care
When I'm bombed I stretch like bubblegum
And look too long straight at the morning sun
Love there are flowers along the avenue,
all things perfectly in place
I build a shrine, I settle a monument
Because you're fire
Because you're a fire escape

SAM PHILLIPS: ALL NIGHT

I've been looking for you all night.
All night. All night.
I've been wanting to touch you since we met.
You don't give a girl a chance to forget.
And all night. All night.
I've been looking for you all night.
Where will all this trouble lead?

Here are some of the epic (or epicly BAD) songs that made me all barfy back in the day:

  • Alice Cooper "Poison" (I was totally going to marry him when I was in kindergarden)
  • Billy Idol entire Billy Idol record (I was also going to marry this dude,  Alice won't mind. AWK: There is a VHS tape somewhere out there in the world of me singing & playing a red "electric" guitar. My repertoire at the time? Yeah all Alice Cooper and Billy Idol.)
  • Chris Isaak "San Francisco Days" and all of the Heart Shaped World record (AWK: My mom had a crush on him too, oh to be two single ladies in SF in the 80s)
  • U2 "Until The End of the World"
  • Screeching Weasel "Crying In My Beer"
  • Duran Duran "Come Undone"
  • Nirvana "Aero Zeppelin"
  • Siouxsie & The Banshees all of Superstition
  • The Church "Reptile"
  • B52's "June Bug"
  • Concrete Blonde "Joey" - One year I was Jhonette Napolitano for Halloween, true story. The year before that I was PJ Harvey. Whatever.
  • Berlin "Metro"
  • Divinyls - I don't want to get into specific songs here. It's all bad news. But Damn this brought up a tangent, bear with me. I just saw recent pictures of Chrissy Amphlett and man she looks busted! According to her website bio, Divinyls was a "fierce, uncompromising outfit that lays claim to being the best band Australia has ever produced." - WAIT WHAT??!?!? Move over -The Church, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, INXS & more- Chrissy has an IV bag full of the good Aussi shit and she's on a mission!! Someone call this bitch up, I don't think she got the memo because her face was  sleeping under a rock: AC/DC IS THE BEST BAND AUSTRALIA EVER PRODUCED. I feel boorish and rude for having to even remind your stupid ass. Anyway.
  • Gene Loves Jezebel "Gorgeous," and "Desire" - forgot about these gems? Take a trip over here and relive the magic!
  • LL Cool J "I Need Love" - yeapppp
  • Madonna "Justify My Love"
  • The Cure "Love Cats"
  • INXS - "Need You Tonight" (tainted for life when my mom started doing step aerobics to INXS)
  • Depeche Mode "Never Let Me Down," and "World In My Eyes" (It actually sounds like Gahan must have been having sex while recording "World In My Eyes" - there is no other conceivable way he could sound like that.)
  • Dramarama "Anything, Anything"
  • Ministry "Revenge" - I'm getting overwhelmed by the video on YouTube right now, I forgot how dude looks like an angry Edward Scissorhands.

I should quit while I'm ahead here... I also left out a lot of the older stuff my mom had on Vinyl because that would mean I liked some of her weird old hippie-folk-stoner music (Jethro Tull? Seriously mom you're cramping my broody child punk vibe), and I WILL DENY IT ALWAYS! Wow.  No wonder I was so damn miserable, look at this list. It's amazing I made it out of the 80s/90s alive. Thank god for my mom's coworkers making me punk mix tapes to balance out all this horsehit. Youth is so... exhausting!

I Crumble Completely When You Cry

I'm going back to 415
If it's a 7 hour flight or a 45 minute drive,
In my imagination you're waiting lying on your side,
With your hands between your thighs,

Stop and wait a sec,
Oh when you look at me like that my darling,
What did you expect,
I probably still adore you with your hands around my neck,
Or I did last time I checked...

Anti Love Song
Wednesday, 17 June 2009 20:47

Betty Davis / 1975 -vs- DJ 4AM

No I don't want to love you / cause I know how you are
that's why I have been staying away from you / that's why I haven't called ya
cause I know you could possess my body
I know you can make me scrawl / I know you can have me shaking
I know you could have me climbing the walls
that's why I don't want to love you / cause I know how you are
sure you say your right on and you're righteous
but with me I know you'd be right off
you know I could possess your body too? / You know I could make you crawl
and just as hard as I fall for you boy / well you know you'd fall for me harder
that's why I don't want to love you / cause I know what you do to my heart
you'd scorch it just like hot iron / leave me burning alone in the dark
cause I know you could make me suffer
I know you could drive me mad / I know you just take me in a circle
when it got real / I know you'd disappear
that's why I AIN'T gonna love you / cause I know you like to be in charge
well with me
you know you couldn't control me dontcha?
Cause you know I'd make you drop your guard
I'd have you eaten your ego / I'd make you pocket your pride
just as hard as I'd be loving you / you know you'd be loving me harder
that's why I don't want to love you.
I said
I don't want to love you

The internet, for me, exists soley for 1) Finding shoes 2) Finding Hudson jeans for cheap 3) YouTube 4) LOLcats 5) Music 6) Tha MB 7) Facebook 8) Figuring everything out myself and now 9) Twitter. Sure, research, the weather, driving directions and etc fit in here somewhere. It was not "music" that lead me to this post, but rather four finger rings. As in, I'm having one made. You provide a question, Google provides the magic. Whatever it is your silly widdle heart desires - it's out there somewhere. Along with some secondary results that you didn't even know you wanted to find.

Here's the ChorizoFM Four Finger Ring mixtape. Download the whole thing here and put it on your iPod/iTunes/iSomething like now. Check out the other ChorizoFM mixes here. There's a special Crown City Rockers mixtape and some other good shit. My Catalog is Analog Vol 3 is hot.

Hey Seth - dude - you'll get over it. DH gave me these words of wisdom in the doorway of the warehouse, back when my shit fell apart: "Stuff happens... then something changes... and it does something else... you'll get through it." I can't even begin to describe some of the shit I've seen... Word is: nothing's shocking. This song's for you dud... Nah f*k it, this song is for everyone.
